CardioStart High School Summer Program

Do you love science?

Have you ever wanted to see and work with a live cell?  Do you find yourself asking questions beyond the scope of your classes?

Would you like to know what it is like to work in a tissue-engineering laboratory?  Do you want to experience the awe of discovery?

Then you are the right person for the CardioStart summer program!

The CardioStart summer program exposes students to the world of cells and tissue biology beyond the textbook through hands-on benchtop and research skills.  Learning does not stop at the benchtop.  Students will integrate advanced workshops with hands-on college level research techniques to explore cardiac tissue engineering.

The laboratory and research skills taught during this course are highly valued in research labs worldwide, and can assist students in securing highly sought after undergraduate research internships in college, which could ultimately propel them to graduate and/or medical school.

Program Period:  The Summer 2018 program is now closed and we are no longer accepting applications.  The Summer 2019 application will be open in February of 2019.

Mentor Guided Component

Students will learn how to design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and maintain proper laboratory records.
